Rheum rhabarbarum (Rabarber) komt van oorsprong uit Noordwest China en Noordoost Tibet, de stelen kunnen gegeten worden. Plant ze ongeveer 30 cm diep en de grond. In het begin vochtig houden. Oogsttijd voorjaar/ zomer. De hoogte wordt ongeveer 50 cm. De plant is uit cultuurmateriaal vermeerderd.
